Alpine Bikes Mountain Bike Training Courses • Partnership • About Us • Alpine Bikes

Most of us know how to ride a bike but to get the most out of your mountain biking there are many skills and techniques that you can learn with the help of a good instructor.

Alpine Bikes have joined forces with Chris Ball from Dirt School to bring you a series of short courses to make you a better biker. Every rider can improve and Dirt School, having worked with total novices to World Champions, is perfectly placed to get the best out of you. Book onto one of our exclusive courses and you'll be guaranteed to come out riding with more confidence and increased skill.

Geared towards beginners (blue route level) and intermediates (blue/ red route), these carefully designed courses will take you step-by-step through the essentials of good mountain biking. You'll benefit from being looked after by a company who coaches the UK's best. There's the opportunity to gain some invaluable advice as well as learn some basic bike and suspension set-up tips throughout the day.

Course details

Our fun and hands-on courses are designed for the beginner and intermediate mountain biker looking to take their riding to the next level. Each course has been designed to progress your cycling and increase your skills – your improvement is what matters most.

For those new to off-road riding we can help you get onto some more technical terrain with confidence. These half day sessions have been designed to provide you with everything you need in an easy, non-fatiguing and non-intimidating environment.

Our full-day intermediate classes are held on red route trails and introduce tips and techniques to give you more speed to your cornering, correct drop-off technique as well as many other essential skills.

No matter your standard, almost every rider can benefit from one of our classes.

Both classes will have a maximum ratio of 6 riders per instructor and are held at the world famous Glentress centre in the Scottish Borders. For all courses we meet at 9:45am in Glentress car park. If you do not have your own bike or helmet you can hire these from any Alpine Bikes store if booked in advance.
