John O'Groats to Lands End - The Wrong Way Down! • Alpine Bikes:

Alpine Bikes Intrepid Adventurers! On the 10th August, Craig Mathieson and Aaron Robertson will be travelling from John O’Groats to Lands End – commonly considered the difficult way of tackling the route! Both Craig and Aaron are employees with Alpine Bikes in Aberdeen and looking forward to starting their challenge at the weekend.

Their plan is to ride the 950 miles by mountain bike (Aaron on a new Trek 69er) in 11 days – roughly 90 miles a day. To make the journey even more of an effort, the boys will be avoiding campsites, hostels and hotels and will be wild camping the entire way down! Fortunately, the good people at Science in Sport have been good enough to supply them with enough energy products to keep them moving every day.

They’re not doing it for fun, either. Both Craig and Aaron are looking to raise at least £900 for VSO, the Volunteers Services Overseas, a group of which the pair are active with. So much so, they’ll be off working with them for a year after their efforts.

So, wish them the best of luck and feel free to donate to the cause!
